Chloe Cohen's portfolio site
Hi! My name is Chloe Cohen and I am a junior in high school. I coded this website myself using html as a way to compile my portfolio in one place. I also have digitized one of my sketchbooks which is downloadable here. I wasn't sure if it was something that should be included in a portfolio review but I figured it couldn't hurt.
I designed this poster inspired by the music of a band called The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band. It is acrylic paint on paper.
This was a project based on combining the traits of two animals that share my personality traits. I chose to do a magpie and an otter. He is earthenware clay and about 16 inches tall.
This piece was using the japanese concept of notan, using black and white. I handbuilt it using coils and underglazed it all black, and sgraffitoed all the white sections.
Simple observational piece of a stairwell using plain micron pens. (and some detail shots)
Still life done in oils from observation
This is a super small oil painting, about the size of my hand. It was very loosely based off of a photograph of a neck dissection in a medical textbook, but more abstracted than it is an anatomical study.
This is an abstracted figure that i carved from a fake stone substitue called creastone that i poured into a milk carton, let set, and chisled.
Some 1 minute gesture drawings from a live model! charcoal on newsprint
Some fun rectangles done in sharpie, with some graphite and colored pencil. I wanted to practice value with ink here.
I did this self portrait as a study to get more familiar with procreate. I only used one digital "brush" and two layers.
This is a handbuilt pot that is about nine inches tall.
This was a watercolor I did from observation sitting in a park facing a Mormon temple.
I did this from observation of the Philadelphia skyline sitting on a hill over boathouse row.
